Gauri & Nainika on Creating The Ultimate Party Collection

Text by Wyanet Vaz

Expect artistic feather prints, signature ruffles and lots of drama

After successful collaborations with Indian designers like Manish Arora and Pankaj & Nidhi, Koovs builds up a festive wardrobe with evening wear designers Gauri & Nainika. Their newest capsule is a cleverly curated set of signature neoprene gowns with flirty silhouettes. “Koovs had an amazing idea of doing the ultimate party dress collection. We were thrilled that they were reaching an audience and a market that we could never reach,” say the designers as they walk us through this glamorous collection.

Moodboard
“Each dress has its own personality — there’s a beautiful overlap of couture and drama. We have incorporated classic cuts and silhouettes. It’s like tapping into all the moods of the Koovs X Gauri & Nainika girl. Even as a brand, we love to create styles which make a statement and stand out.”

Haute pick
“We got American artist Travis Black to create the feather print for our collaboration with Koovs. This dress is a personal favourite, because even though it’s a romper, the tulle gives it a dreamy look and feel. There’s a hint of mystery with the horsehair hemline and we love its flirty undertones.”

Extras
“Accessories are very personal, and some people like to put their personalities into it. However, we suggest keeping it low with just one statement earring.”

Gauri & Nainika’s selection for the Verve woman
“Pick these up for our signature ruffles and drama. We also recommend the red boat neck dress because, like her, it is a mix of classic and contemporary styling.”
