Designer Focus: Sahil Kochhar

This relatively new designer has carved a niche with his exquisite creations. His modern interpretation of the beautiful Sanjhi craft did complete justice to this feminine yet edgy collection of form-fitting dresses, embellished floor sweeping gowns, structured jackets and oversized trenches. The three dimensional hand embroideries made the garments stand out adding a futuristic appeal. The beige cover ups with stencil cutwork, the mid-length blue dress paired with an oversized trench were the winners of the showing. Given that the techniques used to enhance the ensembles deserved a round of applause, the collection still fell short of making a powerful impact.
