Men
Into the dapper world of Dior Men
Text by Wyanet Vaz
The press note for Dior Homme suggests a metamorphoses of the ‘Dior Man’ into ‘Dior Men’. Charismatic and distinctly individual, the campaign features singer and lyricist Oliver Sim, actor Alain-Fabien Delon, artist Rinus Van de Velde and model Victor Nylander. They play versions of themselves in the still images and accompanying film, Stranger in a Room. Playfully subverting the rules of masculine dressing, while still upholding tradition, each image beautifully captures the essence of a Dior Homme.
The teasers have Oliver Sim and Rinus Van de Velde looking crisp in black with a contrasting raw backdrop. Photographer Willy Vanderperre explains the idea of involving real men in the Dior canvas, “Each young man is respected for who he is as a person and in what they all do. All of them have talents you would want to possess. We wanted other people to be invited into their worlds too.” Afterall, who can resist crisp men in suits. Verve says, more the merrier!
