Designer Focus: Nachiket Barve
This refined effort of understated elegance was an interpretation of Barve’s fascination with Africa and its rich culture. Keeping his inspiration intact, he brought to the fore some key trends for the next season such as front-slit skirts, culottes, safari shirts – enriched with techniques of surface ornamentations practiced by native artisans of the continent. His choice of soft pastels and neutrals made for a great canvas to highlight the intricate beadwork and thread embroidery. We spotted some sensual ensembles and stunning separates such as the sheer gown, structured short dresses, midi skirts and a checkered crop-top. The orange outfits from the last leg of the showing were forgettable though.
