Statement jewels flexed with refined class was the first and impactful impression of Laila’s collection. The national bird, peacock and its plumage inspired the designer to craft a mix of elaborate and sophisticated pieces in geometric shapes and filigree designs. The oversized rings and earrings, intricate palm bracelets and ornate neckpieces with drape chains were examples of her restrained modernity. Each accoutrement was elegance personified. We have to give it to her for taking minimal risk in her debut showcase and yet make a bold statement.
