Day 4: Amazon Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2016
Namrata Joshipura
Namrata Joshipura does Manhattan chic with fringe detailing and embellished hats. Luxe pieces such as red jumpsuit, botanical print dresses, suits, waist cut dresses along with sequin floral jackets, maxis and metallic jumpsuits added power to the glamorous show.
Péro by Aneeth Arora
Aneeth Arora takes us back to school with a big dose of gingham checks on dresses, khadi pants and tops. Reversible jackets, wool dresses, embroidered khadi tops, merino wool jumpsuits and recycled knitted tops were just some of the fun numbers in Péro’s classroom.
Niki Mahajan
A colourful palette of rose and ivory hues spotted in an array of ethnics created using handmade laces with flowers and delicate geometric patterns, interwoven with pearls and diamantes defined Niki Mahajan’s contemporary-ethnic line.
Mandira Wirk
The delicate elegance of the Rococo art comes to form in Mandira Wirk’s constructed jackets, panelled palazzos, layered anarkalis and pre-draped saris. Fluid silhouettes in flattering cuts and light weight fabrics rendered in ivory, gold, black and beige were beautifully layered with sheers and opaque fabrics.
Ashima Leena
Inspired by the rich motifs of Persian carpets, Ashima Leena’s pret collection saw flowy silhouettes in cascading prints, appliqué and playful tassels. Jewels tones like olive green, mustard, navy and wine merged effortlessly relishing the rich fantasy of the Persian culture.
Anavila
Pleats were not limited to the drape of a sari. Anavila’s show saw a whole lot of easy layering of saris with cardigans embroidered with 3D flowers and knit tops underneath. Pleated floral underskirts and bell-sleeves added versatility to each look. We love the way the cotton sari is ready to be worn in the forthcoming Autumn season.
Eka
The laidback vibe continues at Eka with cosy pleated and polka dot dresses paired with palazzos. Checkered and plain dresses in warm colours kept the brand’s signature vibe alive. At Eka, winters are calling!

Bodice
Bodice explores the reinvention of classics through modern tailoring and indigenous textiles. Soft silhouettes are layered with out of size proportions. Lean trousers, dresses with waist pleats in heavy wool, long oversized shirts and tunics paired with wool scarves. Accessories such as soft leather clogs and wood and metal neckpieces added to the mature vibe of the collection.
Lovebirds
Colour blocked pieces in greys, black, yellows and reds caught our attention at Lovebirds as they celebrated the sweater weather with woollen layering. Minimalistic dresses with laidback tailoring, robe coats and midi dresses completed the line.
ILK by Shikha and Vinita
Ilk by Shikha and Vinita explore the technique of Pointillism. Rib paneling makes a comeback on cocoon coats and saris. Apron inspired silhouettes, printed opaque fabrics, pleated skirts, twin sets, capes with shirt dresses in shades of tomato reds and blackish-blues.
Ikai by Ragini Ahuja
A stylised version of laidback casual and formal wear inspired by animals and autumn leaves at Ikai. Fringed leather bra-let, boxy dresses and skirts, kangaroo print capes, long line coats in pinstripe pattern, trenches and kurtas in subdued tones, all paired with berets, and black stockings.
