Day 3: Amazon India Fashion Week Spring Summer 2017
Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna
Sleek silhouettes with sexy cutouts, clean tailoring, metallic studs and patches of silver were pitted against sober pastels and neutral colours. Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna’s clothes would fit seamlessly in the wardrobe of the urban sophisticate.
Gauri & Nainika
A line-up of floor-grazing gowns and exaggerated silhouettes were spotted at this collection. Ruffles and frills in sheer, organza and tulle added to the drama of this ultra feminine showcase. The colour palettes ranged from mustard and whites to deep corals and in someplaces even gothic blacks.
Malini Ramani
Soothing earthy tones, hand-dyed techniques and embroideries made this collection fluid and effortless. A mix of dip dyes and fun exotic prints depict an extension of the designer’s personal style.
Sanchita
Shimmery patchwork robes over slip dresses and colourful bejewelled jackets over twin sets defined Sanchita’s idea of a tropical garden. A nod to the Bauhaus architecture, this collection also featured insect micro prints, large orchid colour blocks, and soft tailoring perfect for the warm weather.
Ashima Leena
Vintage wallpaper prints on feminine silhouettes dominated Ashima Leena’s collection. The straw hats seemed like a forced accessory over this flirty collection.
Siddhartha Tytler
Fluid festive wear in champagne and gold hues were spotted at Siddartha Tytler’s collection. Inspired by the Voyniche manuscript, diaphanous ghararas and shimmery saris were given a contemporary twist. Don’t miss their lehengas paired with bomber jackets.
Rabani & Rakha
Draped dhoti pants, asymmetric hemlines and plenty of capes made for contemporary looks perfect for the festive season. Variation of capes and asymmetrical silhouettes were the strong points of the show.
ILK
ILK stayed true to its signature soft grunge that reflected in delicate floral textures on separates and twin sets, and sheer layers. Print, embroideries and handmade textures left us waiting for spring. The colour palette which ranged from baby blues and creams to charcoal and rani pink was refreshing.
Ikai by Ragini Ahuja
Relaxed silhouettes with graphic bohemian artworks and punk details was an ode to the idea of ‘Oversized Indian’. Neutral shades of navy, grey and blue were paired with fiery reds. Denim overalls, longline jackets with ethnic prints and playful dresses defined the collection at Ikai.
