The Sound of Chanel

After his sensational Happy video, Pharrell Williams teams up with Karl Lagerfeld to narrate the story behind the iconic Chanel jacket. Aptly titled Reincarnation, the original soundtrack CC The World grows on you, as Pharrell Williams and Cara Delevingne deliver an enigmatic performance.

The video travels back to vintage Salzburg, as you join Karl Lagerfeld in an imaginary episode from the life of Coco Chanel. Played by Geraldine Chaplin, Coco Chanel is seen holidaying in the suburbs of Salzburg, as she chances upon the lift attendant’s jacket. In the strangest of circumstances, this mere piece of clothing gets reincarnated as a timeless element in women’s wear. We must admit this bit of history left us amused, not to mention enchanted by the Pharrell-Cara duet.

Reincarnation will accompany the Paris-Salzburg 2014/15 Métiers d’art collection to be shown on December 2, 2014 in Salzburg.
