Beauty Notebook: Oxblood Lips

You’d have to be living under a rock to miss the oxblood fashion trend. It can be quite a toughie to pull off, but we give you an easy step-by-step guide to getting this dramatic look right.

Step 1
Dab a small amount of concealer to neutralise your lip colour and to create a good foundation for the oxblood shade.

Step 2
Line your lips with a lip liner in a similar shade as your lipstick. Fill it in with the pencil, so that it acts as a good base for your colour.

Step 3
Apply the colour with your fingers for a sheer look, or use a lip brush for a more precise and opaque result. You can apply it directly from the tube for a bold and glossy look.

Step 4
Finally, use your concealer brush to go around the edges of your lips, to clean up any feathering lipstick or uneven lines.
