Verve Exclusive #FirstLook: AM:PM’s SS 2016 Collection

Start the new season with AM:PM’s spring/summer collection that revolves around a refreshing colour palette. Taking inspiration from Skakuntala and tales of the forest, the Ankur and Priyanka Modi share with us exclusive images of their boho-chic collection (that we’ve already booked for our Grecian vacation).

In a quick conversation, they talk to us about a summer love story and their favourite pieces…

What are the key driving points of this collection?  “For spring/summer we wanted to go with something that was dewy, fresh and inspired by nature. We wanted to encapsulate flora, fauna and water bodies. Shakuntala is a story based in the forest, which we reworked into our own Indian summer love story.”

If there’s something from this collection that women should buy, what do you think it would be? “If we had to pick, it would have to be the ivory draped saree. It is the closest representation of our muse. Since we have contemporised the story to our vision of Shakuntala, this would be the stand-out piece.”

The forests of India are… “Exotic and enchanting.”

What’s the message behind the latest collection? “Shakuntala’s qualities still reflect the in women of today. Raised in the jungle, she was a free spirit and yet possessed passion and devotion. Her determination towards leaving the jungle to go to the royal city in search of her husband, and at a later point forgiveness towards her son, stand as strong inspirations even today. This collection is an ode to her compassionate spirit.”
