Amazon India Fashion Week Day 2: Coming of Age

Text by Saumya Sinha. Compiled by Wyanet Vaz

An intelligent mix of romantic fashion and responsible ideologies pushed the envelope on Day 2 of fashion week

A strong collection backed by delicate emotions and rendered in frost hues gave foundation to Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna’s monotone presentation. Exaggerated sleeves, high-waisted skirts, embossed neoprene dresses and laser cut jackets remained the highlights of their show.

Hemant and Nandita presented a colourful winter wardrobe. A well-executed, glamorously bohemian line revealed itself in capes, cover-ups, long-loose gowns, tassles, fringes and handmade silver jewellery. Hues such as smoke greys, dull reds and mustards along with abstract florals and ethnic prints made every look exciting and elysian.

Not So Serious by Pallavi Mohan saw a fresh and evolved sensibility with her new energising collection. Printed organza dresses, pleated wool skirts and howling embellishments on edgy feminine silhouettes anchored her ‘Nostalgia’ collection.

Bringing the day to a close was Abraham and Thakore’s ‘Old New’ collection that offered a series of reinvented traditional classics in rich embroideries. The line was ingeniously created using recycled materials, maintaining sustainability as their strongest point.
