Suburban Soiree

Verve and Villeroy & Boch hosted a high tea at a space designed by Gauri Khan, where Mumbai’s glitterati enjoyed many a delectable platter and a perfectly curated evening

A galaxy of Mumbai’s A-listers stepped in for the high tea soiree hosted by European tableware brand Villeroy & Boch, in collaboration with Verve. Stars too shone at the shenanigan at the well-appointed space, designed by Gauri Khan and promoted by Tanaaz Bhatia. Co-host and designer Deepika Gehani was at her gracious best at the evening that was marked by scintillating conversations, great food and a lovely ambience.

Gauri’s plush space is the perfect amalgamation of avant-garde design and creative ideas. The contemporary four-floor location is complete with classic interior design pieces that are a testament to her eclectic style and unique taste. Guests swished around the aesthetically designed space, admiring each floor; the décor on every level was centred on a different theme — and each area was enhanced by a Villeroy & Boch product. When the refreshments were served, the invitees were highly appreciative of the classic tableware collection, Audun Ferme, inspired by the French countryside where Villeroy & Boch was founded in 1748. And, a dinner table displaying delicate premium bone porcelain collections, La Classica and Anmut, completed the beautiful setting.

The food for the evening was specially catered by Eat Drink Design, a boutique hospitality company that specialises in concept-driven projects. Guests enjoyed the hors d’oeuvres, wines, and aromatic teas, among the many delectable things on the exclusive menu.

Guests were seen admiring the exhibits and the décor of the fine store, and the evening turned out to be one to truly cherish.
