If you’re a fan of pattra ni macchi or have lusted after gara saris, you’ll know which community to thank for them. The Parsis have been an integral part of the urban Indian landscape – and award-winning photographer and filmmaker Sooni Taraporevala’s latest exhibition provides a delightful window into their lives. A collection of candid captures, Through a Lens, By a Mirror chronicles moments, people and emotions from Taraporevala’s small world of Parsis. Let’s raise a large Parsi peg to this one!

The photo exhibition is in conjunction with The Everlasting Flame Programme by the Ministry of Minority Affairs and the Parzor Foundation.

Through a Lens, By a Mirror is on display at India International Centre, New Delhi (No.40, Max Mueller Marg) from April 29 to May 8, 2016
