For late photographer Sunil Janah, the history and growth of the subcontinent were of great interest, and he chose to capture the region’s special moments on camera. Regarded as one of India’s most significant photographers of the last century, Janah worked on a series that illustrated the rapid modernisation that the country went through after independence.

In this collection of vintage silver gelatin prints, viewers can catch a glimpse of the master artiste’s ability to draw from international photography trends, while adding a personal stamp to the images. You’ll never look at factories the same way again.
