Islands and Chains
Berlin-based artist Matthias Bitzer presents his first solo show in India, at Mumbai’s Galerie Isa. The artist, a recipient of Germany’s prestigious Otto Dix Prize, will have on display paintings, sketches, sculptures and installations that play with modernism and abstraction.
Renowned names from 19th century arts and culture, including Austrian author and dramatist Arthur Schnitzler, American poet Emily Dickins, Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, Argentinian writer and poet Jorge Luis Borges and German dancer, actress, and writer Anita Berber serve as inspirations for Bitzer’s artistic works.
Islands and Chains will be on display at Galerie Isa from February 3 to April 25, 2015.
