Eleven Artists and Their ‘Twisted’ Art

Who said art always has to be ‘normal’ or ‘pretty’? From Picasso to Van Gogh, artists have dabbled with the weird, the out of the ordinary and the ‘twisted’. In a new group exhibition, eleven artists explore this idea of “divine madness” to create works that are both quirky and striking. On first glance they may seem simple, but on closer examination, and on reading between the lines, you uncover the twisted elements in each. The participating artists are Hrishikesh Biswal, Alok Bal, Roshan Chabbria, Kanika Shah, Sajal Sarkar, Himanshu S, Subrat Behera, Debraj Goswami, Jagannath Mahapatra, Dushyant Patel and Suguresh Sultanpur.

Twisted is on display at Priyasri Art Gallery, Mumbai (42 Madhuli, 4th Floor, Shiv Sagar Estate, Dr Annie Besant Road, Worli) until July 10, 2016.
